Baton Rouge Uncorked will present a seasonal Wine Tasting benefiting a local charity. At each event, a different wine varietal is highlighted (for example: Cabernet Sauvignon). Attendees form teams of up to three members and participate in the wine tasting competition. Each team selects a wine from a particular winery to present. Each team brings three identical bottles, two of which are then bagged, tagged, and offered to the attendees for blind tasting and scoring. The majority of the third bottles will go into the "pot" to be awarded to the winning teams, while some will be grouped in baskets in the silent auction for bidding. At the conclusion of the festivities the scores are tallied, the winners are recognized and awarded the “pot” to split while the lowest scoring wine is returned to its rightful owner to take home.
Each attendee, or team of up to 3 attendees, is required to bring 3 identical bottles of the wine of their choosing. It's 3 bottles total per team, and teams can consist of 1 to 3 people. A group of 4 people, for example, would be considered 2 teams; thus, they will need to bring 6 bottles to enter the event.
